Jose Mourinho reportedly sees the versatile Spaniard as the key man in his plans to take United back to the top of the Premier League.
 But Atletico Madrid are believed to value their young star at £54million - his release clause - meaning he would take up a large chunk of the summer war chest. 
 Niguez, 21, has only recently just agreed a new deal at Atletico, which is thought to be worth around £80,000-a-week.
